Cognitive Behavioral Therapy- CBT
A psychological approach intended to create a change in the patterns of thinking (cognition) as well as a change in the course of action ( behavior ). CBT is usually a short-term treatment, which tends to focus on present events such as adversities, distress, and patterns of thought and behavior that cause emotional disturbances.
CBT helps to develop healthy patterns through the practice of therapeutic tasks. These tasks are aimed at reducing the need for control and perfectionism, increased self-esteem, reducing distorted thoughts and returning the frequency and intensity of unpleasant feelings to normative level.
This treatment is well established in research, and uses tools and metrics that allow the clinician and the patient to produce a beneficial result.
